I had to use that expression in the title at some point, right?
If you walk around downtown Chicago, you may hear hymns played by bells. The music director updated the hymn selection for the autumn season, especially for Thanksgiving, and below is the line-up.
8:46am Be Thou My Vision
9:46 This Is The Day
10:46 Now Thank We All Our God
11:46 How Great Thou Art
1:46 Where Cross The Crowded Ways of Life
4:46 Come, Ye Thankful People Come
5:46 We Gather Together
7:46 Eat This Bread
8:46 Abide With Me
So where are these bells? You’ll have to wait for the next installment (soon!), but I’ll give you a hint–the hymns play at a quarter to the hour (after the Westminster chimes mark the time) so as to not disrupt events on the Daley Plaza that often occur at the top of the hour.
